We were pleased to award two Scholarships and four Honorary Education Gifts as we continue in our fifth year of our Scholarship Program. We had many qualified candidates to choose from and wish the best to all who applied.
We are pleased to announce the following students who were each given awards from ENCOMPASS.
To qualify, candidates must be a graduating student who has a parent that works for a client of ENCOMPASS and are pursuing post-secondary education in the Fall of 2016.
Congratulations to:
Casey Broughton – son of Apex Geomatics employee, Karen Sokolan. Kevin will be attending UBC Bachelor of Science Program.
Natasha Ganske – daughter of Okanagan Regional Library employee, Catherine Ganske. Natasha will be attending UBC to pursue an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry
Emily Fakaro – daughter of Great West Equipment employee, Michael Fakaro. Emily will be attending Kwantlen Polytechnic University’d Parts and Warehousing Program.
Georgia Hopp – daughter of Command Industries employee, Joerg Hopp. Georgia will be attending Okanagan College Associates of Science.
Stuart Pryde – son of District of Peachland employee, Doug Pryde. Stuart plans to attend Okanagan College ‘s Water Treatment Technology Program.
Brodie Kern – son of City of West Kelowna employee, Joel Kern. Brodie plans to attend UBCO to pursue a degree in Nursing..
In Addition to the two ENCOMPASS scholarships and four honorary education gifts, individual scholarships were established at various high schools and Colleges served by ENCOMPASS Benefits. Some are administered directly by the school themselves and others by COBBS (Central Okanagan Bursary and Scholarship Society. This non-profit society acts as an administrator for many schools in the Okanagan, receiving applications from students and matching them to scholarships and awards they are eligible for).
2016 Recipients are:
Heritage Christian School, Kelowna BC: Michelle Oestreich received a $500 scholarship at graduation. Christina Dietrich and Carlee Matvieshen both received $200 Honorary Education Gifts
Immaculata Secondary School, Kelowna BC: Julia Misutka and Evan Noble both received a $500 scholarship at graduation.
Columbia Bible College, Abbotsford BC: Ben Smith $1,000 as a 3rd year student.
Mennonite Brethren Collegiate Institute, Winnipeg MB: Stefan Kuska received $500 scholarship at graduation. Stefan plans to pursue a Business Degree.
