BC has introduced a new, unpaid, job protected leave for employees unable to work for specified reasons related to COVID-19

To provide increased flexibility to employers and employees who mutually wish to extend a temporary layoff related to the COVID-19 emergency, BC has extended the maximum length of temporary layoff to 16 weeks (up from 13)
