Applications for the Temporary Layoff Extension related to COVID-19 must be received by the August 25th deadline.
The BC government has set up an online portal where employers and employees can apply jointly to the Employment Standards Branch for a further temporary layoff variance.
If the variance is not received by this date the employment relationship will be severed as of August 30th.
